There are a number around the castle in the Wilderness. I believe that they're called thestrals.

But they're not monsters? I admit I thought they might be at first, but if they're tame I'll have to go meet them.

I don't think that they are dangerous, although, all the same, be careful.

I would wonder at a realm in which such a misshapen beast can have such an agreeable temperament.
