The baby horse was born Sunday! His name is Buck-a-roo. Sooo cute, buckskin with a little black star. Other than that work around the stables has fallen into a good routine. Julie (my boss) took Valerie and me out to lunch yesterday; her treat. Very nice of her ( Read more... )

I lived through yesterday. even with the humidity and heat. Rode a few horses and pretty much used up all my energy, so then my boss told me we'd ponied Blaze and Tristine (ponied means "have a quiet educated horse with a rider walk in front of the horse being trained to accept a rider, with a rider on untrained"). Yesterday was some of the best spring/summer weather ever. 77 degrees outside with a beautiful breeze. And I got to work outside in it! I am such a lucky girl. :) Valerie braided my hair before I started working with the horses. She is a very kind woman. I worked with Image and Monty. Work was wet and cold again. All the horses had to stay inside the barn because the ground in the pastures are too unstable and muddy.
Last night, Tiff and I watched the entire second season of Battlestar Galactica. Our puppy also watched it. She is soo cute. She sat right in front of the TV too.

I am back from Ames and I miss everyone there. Wish I could have stayed longer, but I had work. I would never miss work, at least not for this job (I work with horses ( Read more... )
