Lots of publicity out there for Hephzibah Anderson's book Chastened: The Unexpected Story of My Year Without Sex. I saw a blurb on MSN, and my eyes rolled so hard I got dizzy. I mean, seriously? Got my AllPosters.com order today. The print I ordered specifically for my forest-themed bedroom is gorgeous, but wouldn't you know, the $3 impulse buy poster of gothy lesbian vampires actually looks perfect in that room. :P Eh, I guess vampires don't have to be just for Hallowe'en. As long as it's not Edward Cullen watching me sleep... creepy! -

Discovered something a bit odd today. The wines I like enough to buy again tend to be aromatic and floral whites - mainly Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Muscat, though I don't mind the occasional Pinot gris. I forgot how much worse things look when you're in the midst of cleaning/organizing. The house resembles the aftermath of a tornado. :P Trying to work around the few things that are already where they need to be is tedious, too. Am on an organization binge. Have realized that at least half the stuff in my house doesn't really need to be here. Five complete bedding sets when I only have two beds (and a futon)? Three microwave ovens, two printers, entire wardrobes in sizes 6 through 12, a hutch and months' worth of supplies for a rabbit who died in January, four sets of cat ( Read more... ) -

The mighty hunter caught a mouse in the living room! She carried it around for a bit, showed it to me proudly, and dropped it on my bag. Then caught it again - by the head. Then dropped it. At that point the poor mouse was extremely disoriented and began trying to hide under my feet, so I scooped it up to take outside... and the little bugger BIT ( Read more... ) -

Just tired. Made a whirlwind trip to see family last weekend, including some cousins I hadn't seen in two or three years. Kids grow up so fast! Also, while I sneezed through most of Eastern/Central Washington, the Cascade Mountains didn't trigger my hay fever at all. Come to that, neither did the Keweenaw Peninsula.
