One thing I will say for the LJ slowdown: I managed to improve my ratio of posts read to comments left. Like, I always read everyone's posts, I don't filter my friendslist, but I guess I was always trying so hard to stay caught up that I was bad at letting people know I was paying attention? And I'm still not stellar about that, because things have

The second time I went there were two girls sitting behind me who, at the end of the movie, after Tony's thrown you know what in the water, they were all (over the credits) WHAT? WHAT DID THAT EVEN MEEEEAN? It was all I could do not to turn around and say, ladies, let me introduce you to some communities on the internets . . .

I got pulled over for speeding for the first time in YEARS after seeing Hansel & Gretel. Martha was like, it's okay, Jeremy Renner just makes you aggro. /o\

I didn't see the rebuttal, but I liked it too; must agree, you can't exactly lump everything that wasn't a drama or a romance into the same category. I feel like Hobbits/Disney/Marvel have a lot of audience overlap but they're not the same thing. That matters!
I'm sure some other genre(s) will be wicked popular in 2020, probably something that isn't even on our radars now--maybe it'll be the new Era of RomCom!--but still and all, don't burst my funbubble now, Cracked.

Also, I think a lot of us have a ton of fannish interactions in person, like last weekend, and that's not the SAME as engaging on LJ and so forth, but it fills in the gaps for me, a lot. (I first typed that as "fills in the gays." ORLY BRAIN.)
21 Jump Street is just so absurdly satisfying, in so many ways. I LOVE IT A LOT.

Agreed, re: tumblr; I have one and I use it fairly often and I enjoy it quite a bit. But it's so passive for me, in a lot of ways? I may reblog something if I want to see it again on my dash, or whatever, but I'm rarely doing anything new or creative or adding to the conversation. It just doesn't draw me in that way.
I'm soooo much a person who prefers face-to-face interactions, and always have been. I'm really glad to live in a region where I get a lot of that with fangirls. It makes the whole experience MUCH richer!
I just don't get why there are practically NO stories on the archive...it's not like the canon gave us nothing to work with. Other hand, I didn't come out inspired to write a pile of them either. *grins* Hopefully someone will, or they'll at least make a few more, because &them; and also &over-falsity of confidence;
