Drink lots of water, get some rest, try not to talk too much. Use Chlorceptic(sp?), and if it continues for a few more days, go to a doc. Might need antibiotics or such.
I second the antibiotics. What usually happens with me is a viral cold infection which turns into a secondary bacterial t hroat infection. The antibiotics help. but so does any type of decongestant, like antihistimine stuff or benadryl, sudafed--it dries up the gunk in your sinus/nasal cavities and prevents it from sliding/dripping (this is gross, I know, but I've had detailed discussions with doctors about it) down your throat, which is where the pain originates. If you dry it up, most of the pain stops.
Blech. That's no fun. Here's my contribution to the advice you've received so far: orange juice, if it doesn't irritate your throat - vitamin C is good for you. :)

Hot tea with honey is also soothing.
Hope you feel better soon!
