the south mall is being reupholstered so the whole of the liberal arts esplanade smells like summertime and crow's nest farm and playing catch in a freshly mown outfield. the amount of paper writing that needs to be accomplished in the next week is tremendous and my shoulder really hurts, but let's talk about barton springs, blue skies and dragon ( Read more... )

this is so lovely. i am sitting at the green muse with my friend meredith and i just turned to her and said, "margaret is such a good writer." i'm not sure if she would even know who you were right off the bat or if it would process even if she did, but there it is.

also, "tucking in the bookstore in and singing all the books to sleep" romanticizes the evils of closing in a way that borders on unrealistic.

i really like the idea of tucking a store in. not the actual act, but how the sentence looks and feels as you read it.

somehow i read south mall as sloth mail and i was excited about the prospect of its reupholstery.
