It's the SAME as Faith. In Faith he's braced and listening to the things the doctor said - there's a flash of hurt and then his face clears and his jaw sets. In Lucifer Rising, he's hurt and he's listening to Dean list all the hurtful things he did. And Sam's braced and he's nodding - owning it. "Yeah. I know I did that. OK. What else." And then Dean says he can't trust him - there's a flash of hurt and then his face clears and his jaw sets.
I can so clearly hear the "No." that I actually thought he'd said it.
But it's the EXACT SAME stubborn "oh hell no" reaction. And in Faith - he FOUND A WAY.
