Still Freaking Pregnant.

Yes, I'm still pregnant. For the first time I'm getting uncomfortable, and I still have at least 7 weeks to my due date. Who knows if I'll get lucky and go earlier (only 20% of women do, as per my childbirth education instructor. Yeah, thanks for that fun factoid). I offically waddle and I can't sleep. Plus my cat was up all last night crying ( Read more... )

Well, I'm glad you're still preggo, but I'm sorry you feel not-good.

I hope your kitty is ok. :( Is she eating and using the litter box ok? Acting normal otherwise?

Oy, I can't even imagine! I started waddling when I donated my eggs, and that was only a 10 pound gain! I'm so sorry.

This isn't mean to scare you and I really hope this doesn't happen, but my friend had to get rid of her dog because he started acting crazy when she was pregnant and got even worse after the baby came. I'm talking being violent and peeing on everything. I wonder why animals do this...

It's a territorial/anxiety thing, from everything I've heard. My parents had to get rid of our first cat once my sister was born...but that was also because we had also gained Peter and a dog within the previous two years; it was just too much extra.
However, to be fair, I have seen the exact opposite more times. The sweetest example was this abused, ex-racehorse who was CRAZY, except for his owner (who was equally crazy before her babies tamed her-- they used to gallop all over the place and it was frightening). Anyway, he was completely head shy half the time, because they used to use an electric shock thing on his neck (the lower end of TB racing is shady as shit). But when his owner had her first child, he would put his head down for the little baby girl and let her touch all over his face and ears, and yeah. It was amazing. I really think he could somehow smell she was Abby's kid or something, because he wasn't like that around other small children. Adorable.

Kitty was acting perfectly fine and didn't cry all night Monday night. I think she was just lonely and wanted attention.

Overall, the animals have been ok during the pregnancy. Our dog is just very protective of me and the cat doesn't like to lay on the stomach anymore (the baby kicks her ;) ). Josh is going to bring a blanket home from the hospital before the baby and I come home so that the animals can smell it and hopefully get used to the baby's smell.
