Johnny Ramone died last night. That's pretty much it for the original members, well besides Tommy or Richie, but they don't count. Johnny always seemed like the asshole of the group, but his guitar playing made a huge impact on me when I was younger. Its even safe to say that without the Ramones I wouldnt have even picked up a guitar. It's a cliche

Yeah, I definately know what you are saying. The Ramones were the whole reason why I put down my trombone and picked up a guitar. I remember sitting in my room with a straticastor rip-off and playing to just about every ramones album you could think of. At one point I stopped playing up-strokes and tried to play chords as fast as I could. If you asked me who my favorite guitar player was, I would have said with no hesitation, Johnny Ramone.
