Thanks! I have a blatant soft spot for the whole command chain, to be honest. ^_^

I love this so much... all their little quirks and idiosyncrasies and shady pasts that none of them want the others to know. Of course we all know Jazz's history and I'm guessing from this that very few of them actually know of his - I'm guessing - much higher rank as Alpha Maestro.

Is it bad that I haven't really figured that out yet? I keep fluctuating between A-list celebrity or actual high upper-caste. I'm thinking he'll end up somewhere in between by the end of Trinkets. ^__^;;

At this point, I have this mentally set when the fall of Protihex is still recent in the timeline; it's been long enough that he's not raw about it, but he's not quite ready to pick at the wounds quite yet and share with the rest of the class. He'll definitely fess up one day, no doubt. The others I'm housing in that same boat too; definitely they have a sense of camaraderie, but they're working on trusting each other with themselves. There is going to be a very epic drunken card game the day they start fessing up.

well crap. another plot bunny.......x_____________X

I love how you've written this :D It reminds me of those scenes in Startrek TNG where all the senior officers are playing poker together and Picard shows up - it's very similar situation and I love that you've given them all such personalities linked closely to their histories before the war. Hope you write more!

Thanks! I'm not going to lie; I was watching TNG and typing up the first prompt way back at in August and it triggered a plot bunny. Then I saw the cheaters prompt, and my fate was sealed. ^__^

And definitely more will be written. I've got a tablet full of ideas right now; once I finish up the main storyline, I'm branching it off into its own 'verse.

Interesting style, it was fun to read it!
And what exactly are Prowl and Jazz drinking? o.o It reads as if they drink the fuel of their own spaceship, mixed with Wheeljacks explosives to spice it up.
Ah the dices... of course Jazz would create something ridiculous out of them.
Am I bit surprised and how much they don't know about each others past, and that Blaster, Mirage and Smokescreen all don't tell.
"Make up stories about each other" - ... it's a bit sad, that we already know that most of those stories are true. It's as if they use that time to tell the truth that they normally force themselves to forget.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Of course Jazz made something ridiculous out of that crystal, and probably concocted a perfectly legitimate 'artistic' reason for it. I think we all know that it was primarily just to screw with Prowl, however. :P

Furthermore, here is 1 (one) Internets for you for making me snort Dr. Pepper thanks to your little description there of Prowl and Jazz's high-grade .

BTW, make up stories about each other? You mostly nailed it. They use the chance to lie to reveal bits and pieces of themselves that they're not exactly comfortable talking about just yet. They're getting there, though.

I love it. The mixture of the truth and blatant lies was wonderful. I like how Prowl's thoughts about Jazz's use for the crystal are shown simply through mention of expressions. No, I don't think Ironhide and Chromia could cheat well enough to play. Well done and very insightful.

Thanks so much!

I can't even cook up words yet. When I twigged onto the idea of Jazz trolling Prowl by making something as low brow as dice out of Praxian crystal (especially on the heel of the great artistic debate), I couldn't think of what to write for Prowl. Then I had the idea that maybe he didn't say anything; all he could do was just cycle through various expressions of WTF. :D
