Because the show is a mess

No, it's not new. It's just a tiny, tiny fandom. I think Krissy knows all eight people in it.

It's a musical that takes place during the height of the cold war, and revolves around the World Chess Championship and its two champions, the American Freddie Trumper, the Russian Anatoly Sergievsky, and the woman they're both in love with, the Hungarian Florence Vassy, and the politics surrounding the competition. It's a love triangle and also full of US vs USSR politics. Oh, and it's written by the boys of ABBA.

I adore it, but it is, indeed, a mess. Mostly because in the past 20 years, it's flopped repeatedly and been rewritten a million times, but never really wanted to die. I just saw Chess In Concert with Idina Menzel and Adam Pascal earlier this month...

And, yes. Tiny, scattered fandom.

Amazing, obviously. The amazingly huge part of it she's seen: aka, the train ride, car ride, and my apartment.

It's cold!

It's nice. On top of the things Krissy listed, I also saw the street and the park on Norway's national day, which was pretty impressive. We've also been to the store and cinema where, it turns out, I could read nothing.
