Played a club date and a wedding this weekend. Wasn't sure if I was going to have fun, but I wound up really enjoying it. Of course, what's not fun about playing in front of a packed house in the biggest club in New Jersey

Duuuuuuuude!!!! That's so excellent! Yay for you. :)
Now, forgive my ignorance (one would think given my past liasons I would know more about this whole journal thing, but I don't think he did that) so, are they hard to get invited to? I know you really wanted it but am unclear as to the difficulty. Also, what will this mean moving forward? Do people in the real world read them (s.c. cite implies yes, I guess) or is it a mostly academic type thing?
Thanks. Invitation to Law Journals generally involve an anonymously graded writing competition. Here is some stuff from the invitation email:
Some interesting facts about AELJ
Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal is ranked as the #1 Most Cited Intellectual Property Law Journal in the U.S.
We are also ranked as the #1 Most Cited Entertainment, Arts, & Sports Law Journal in the U.S
In both of these subject categories, we are ranked #1 for "Impact" as well (meaning quality of the cite). Indeed, our impact is ranked above that of Cardozo Law Review.
These rankings are conducted by Washington & Lee University. Washington & Lee is the only source that keeps an updated list of legal periodical rankings.
I'm sure Joe Six-Pack doesn't have a subscription, but the AELJ is widely read by people who actually practice Intellectual Property/Entertainment law. At least by those who actually take it seriously.
By the way, Cardozo's Arts and Entertainment Journal is #1 in front of Columbia and Yale.
