I don't know why O'brien wrote this book.. Maybe he was always intrested in war since he was young. Because he never had any of these expieriences so maybe his fixation on war and his huge imagination made him want to do this. I dont know if other people feel the same as I do but when i read a book i try to put myself in that characters shoes... Knowing something is real and thinkin about that happening to me gets me more involved with the books I read. I don't really know what to say about the whole shame and courage thing. Because I'm not in their position. But to me... It takes a lot of courage to be a soldier. Theres people who rish their lives for us and thats somethin that would be hard to do. But having shame... I kind of think its normal. I don't like war.. and i don't see how anyone can.
