(But why do you have a job-- and one related to your fields of interest that would look good on a resume-- and I do not? /-: I am kind of worried about this summer).

Well, I have to wake up every morning and drive to Notre Dame, so I am not looking forward to the commute. But I suppose people who are going to be involved wont get on my nerves too much. Either they wont at all or they totally will. You had a summer job last year in your field of interest! Besides, there aren't that many Japanesey jobs around here out there. I think mom is going to make you get a job one way or another. I didn't really want a job because I just sort of want to laze around but she wont let me. It is either LAB or WASHING DISHES AND BK which you totally NEVER had to do when you were a junior/senior. I figured I would be taking care of you and Neil, cooking and cleaning and driving like I did last year.

Well, I want a job (I need money). I would rather not be washing dishes at BK, either, though-- but I am totally fine with like . . . filing. I can put that on my resume and say I speak Japanese and am bad-ass at filing and it will make me very desirable for most major international corporations. I just need to find something.

So what is Neil doing, then? If that kid is left alone, he is just going to eat perpetually and maybe break something. If he does activities . . . who is going to drive him to them?

Speaking of driving, if we both have jobs, what the heck do we do about cars? Because I can't work at Mori no Ike again this year, so unless something crazy happens I am also going to be in the area . . .

PS: What are your hours at your job? Are you there for like three hours a day, or like seven?

PPS: I bet they get on your nerves. Just considering the track record :-P

omg your journal entries never fail to make me laugh. you are so amazing and i am blessed to know you, i swear. how does one even GET a job in a particle physics lab??? i really think it would be funny if you could no longer breathe on land. hahahahahah

I AM GLAD THEY MAKE YOU LAUGH. I miss all of you guys we totally need to hang out some time before we are old women. DEFINATELY BEFORE THAT.
I got a job at a particle physics lab for SUCKING AT PHYSICS AND NOT BEING ABLE TO COMPREHEND CERTAIN THINGS IN CHEMISTRY. Like, our teacher was like, "MATTER IS MOSTLY MADE UP OF NOTHING!" and I was like, "HELL NAW. IT GOT TO BE MADE OF SOMETHIN'." And he was like, "NOPE. NOTHING SMALLER THAN WHAT WE SCIENTISTS HAVE FOUND." And I said, "I DONT BELIEVE YOU." so I read a book by stephen hawkings and told him that I still don't beleive him and then he told me I would probably really enjoy learning about particle physics and got me into this program.
SUPERPOWERS YAEH!

Yeah tell me about it! When I first got the 'job' I thought it was only to look good on a college resume, and I wouldn't be paid. But I guess I am! I am not sure on the actual wage, but from what I have heard it isn't much higher than minimun wage, which will probably cover the gas to commute there. Somethimes I wish we had a better public transportation system..
