Did you talk to your boss and ask him why you weren't promoted and instead you have to bring a newbie up to speed? Of course, given some managers, it could be beating your head against the wall.
My thought is that if the way she dresses is so important to your boss, then there are worse problems than you think. If you put up with it, then he will continue to take advantage of you.
1. Don't work tech. I made a mistake with a company of taking a tech position in a show I wasn't suited to act in, and in future shows it became this big drama of the tech people "sacrificing" to let me be on stage, and usually I ended up having to do some sort of tech along with being in the show.
I don't know why nobody has asked you to sing, but I hear tell that singers are needed for Shanghai on Friday night. I've heard you sing and I know you're good.
As for your job, that is SO DAMNED TYPICAL. I had to train my supervisor in a previous job and it sucked donkey dong. I sort of trained my supervisor in my present job, but it was different and more workable, so it didn't bother me particularly... hard to explain. Office politics suck and you definitely need a new job.
I am sorry things are being such a pain in the arse for you. For the show, I wouldn't work the tech side of it unless it is something you enjoy and WANT to do. Surely there are better things to do with your time until you can partake in a way you like. Otherwise, it's just going to seem like more work, ya know?
And I would definitely ask your manager for the reasoning behind bringing in this new person above you. Tell them you stayed with the understanding that you would be getting help, not a new manager, and let them know that you are displeased that your efforts during a difficult time were not as well-received as you had hoped. Obviously, remain professional throughout, but unless you get a damn good answer, I would consider looking elsewhere.
Actually, I've been wanting to work something up with you for performance at a game. I love your voice! The problem is, I don't know which games coming up will have performances... I will ask the gms.
How we work rehersals... that's a different puzzle.
