I thought this was the most interesting, and well-written, two paragraphs I've read all day!
Social attitudes about animals are hopelessly confused. On one hand, many people regard at least some non-humans - their "pets" - as members of their families. Why I Went Vegan
I didn't see this video but I did read a few stories. In particular was a poster that was on Libra Max's page called "Milk Comes from a Grieving Mother" and it basically brought me to a fit of tears. Texas senator, Wendy Davis (D-Ft. Worth), filibusters an extreme anti-abortion bill in Texas today to prevent a final voting before the special session closes tonight. Single-handedly. For 13-hours.
This is what she is trying to stop.
