I am mostly enjoying Prison Break and starting to get back into Lost. Lost still annoys me a bit, but i do find it all quite exciting.
At night before bed i like watching the original 50's Twilight Zone.
I finally watched City of God the other night- what a fabulous film.
saw Brick at the cinema and loved it.

Also we ditched Lost after the end of Season 1. We felt so cheated. I sometimes catch the odd episode (we are in season 2 still) and feel, well, quite lost.

Brick is filmed in a film noir style. The lead character is searching for his missing girlfriend who turns up dead. In the process he comes across schoolboy drug dealers and small time hoodlums who are represented in a big-town gangster and thug kinda way. The deputy head of the schoolt akes the role of the cop, for instance. The camera pans across his desk and nameplate as if he is a detective and the language is such that it blurs the lines between what you know to be true and what you think it is representing. It is very reflective of 1930s American film making by the likes of Raymond Chandler and Humphrey Bogarde. The story is not the key in this film - it is all about the cinematography, script and style.
