I have this problem a lot...

Throw everything away mentally; don't hold anything dear. Think of everything you're attached to then systematically erase your attachment to it. You can't do it in five minutes; you really have to search yourself for everything that means anything to you.

But if you do this honestly, and you consider everything you can't possibly do without, you'll be left with what's really important to you.

Don't let other people's expectations of you corrupt any of this; think of all this from your perspective only. It's hard but it's the only way this will work.

Take this with a grain of salt, of course. I'm a bit drunk (whee leftover POPOV at home yay!!!)

I hope this helps even a little bit. It always works for me but I'm weird.

But what if you're not sure what you can do without?
Or rather who?

That's why you imagine yourself free of any attachments at all.. if you need an image to go with this, think of yourself being a thousand miles from here with nothing but the clothes on your back and whatever money you decided to take with you. Imagine yourself starting from this point and continuing on with your life without a second thought for what you left behind ( ... )
