i've always loved flowers, but never really appreciated their beauty. since reading your journal, i've found myself wanting to appreciate them the way you do. not to copy you or anything, but more as a way to understand? i like to try and experience things the way others do. anyway, i'm done with the weirdness now. just felt compelled to share that with you. =)

thanks for sharing that moment, kian ;)
even though i liked them, i actually never really got flowers until i had an opportunity to work in a garden, at the children's museum. it was such a wonderful place to retreat to, and just being around the growing things was so fulfilling and inspiring... :) i love that about you, that you try to understand and take a turn looking through someone else's eyes. also, i feel flattered.

i'm positive that if i had my own gardening space, i would spend at least half a day a week submerging into their world, cultivating, learning, and watching them grow and blossom. maybe that's why i love tomatoes so much. once upon a time, i had my own tomato garden and there was so much pride and love and contentment between the blooms, vines, and dirt. and then to give those tomatoes to others and watch them taste what i gave so much time and attention to was almost euphoric. it was like they were tasting more than the tomatoes. they were tasting my energy
( ... )

i didn't even like tomatos until i ate the ones i helped grow. i still don't like them unless they're fresh from the garden. but sharing what you've cultivated is pretty amazing.
that's ironic that you mentioned that, going to that special ed classroom and going through that exercise, because i'm pretty sure you're not aware that i was born with missing fingers - i mean, there's little balls where three of the fingers on my right hand should be. i had a very meaningful experience in a very similar exercise in 6th grade, when i told my group leader that i could skip the finger-taping station, and he asked why... i realized i was so much more than 'the girl with the hand'. neat, how we both got a lot out of that experience, from our different perspectives. :D and what valuable lessons, too.
;) most excellent!! the tulips really stood out to me today. the kids especially love it when i bring flower buds, like today's tulips, that are just opening. :)
Yay Shoulderstand! I love being taught different approaches that end up working for me or getting me further into a pose. Must have been agreat feeling.
I love watching the Oscars. I bought ice cream as a treat but am tempted to go buy sour gum things....yum. Have fun tonight!
