Comparative studies

Today, in making some interdisciplinary investigations for my Latin American Studies senior seminar, I dared venture into unfamiliar zones of the library: HD, JV, JC, etc. I found these expeditions most tiring and dull. Yes, it is art that brings people together...provided the political and economic situation in a given area is stable and prosperous enough for people to make art without fear of starving or being executed. Just a thought from a political science and theater student. Wink.

oh seanito, why you gotta go there? i knooooww that the political and economic studies are of utmost importance, but i'd rather not study them myself. though i admire you for having the stomach to take on both. economics and other disciplines that embrace the harsh realities of contemporary life make me queezy.
actually, what i'm researching for my thesis is artistic reaction to tense political and economic situations. I just wish i could write it without actually having to read books on politics and economics.

p.s. are you still in B.A.? i've become envious of ALL of my Latin American studies "colleagues" that spent their JYAs in Argentina --

Haha. I know you know all that babe. I just had to post that comment in response to you dissing one of my fields of study...althought I diss it myself sometimes...especially economics. But thats mostly because economists blow. ANYWHO, I am still in Buenos Aires. I actually just visted an art museum where I thought a lot about you. Next week I´m going to Peru for 10 days and I can´t wait!! Hope your last semester is treating you well. See you in about a month!
