I haven't been using livejournal much recently - at least, not actively. As obvious by the four-year gap. There are various reasons for this, but the main one is this: when it comes to social media, to quote the wise words of one Bilbo Baggins, "I feel thin, like butter scraped over too much bread." I'm currently working on some anti-littering posters for the high school where my mother teaches, and I'm using Captain Planet on one of them. I was just putting the finishing touches on the formatting, when I had a sneaking suspicion that I may have typed something incorrectly. I want to wake up in a city that doesn't sleep.
In a few days my sister leaves for the US. I'm very excited and happy for her, but pretty nervous at the same time. Travelling to America has been her dream for as long as I can remember, and it's really wonderful that she's going to live that dream for three weeks. In particular, she's always loved New York. I have this crazy desire to sleep outside at the moment. I think it might have something to do with the fact that I'm rereading the Books of Pellinor before the fourth one is released in a few days (yay!). A good idea.
Someone needs to invent a power adapter that plugs into a power point like an Airport and charges your computer battery wirelessly. There could be a little icon in your dock, or your menu bar next to the battery symbol, and you could choose when to connect your computer to the power adapter. How awesome would that be? Steve Jobs, take note! -
RIP Calculator
My calculator just died. I'd been watching it over the past few days, as it had been misbehaving a little, but I think it's finally reached the clearing at the end of the path. This is just about the coolest thing ever.
The best thing about my Cinema Studies essay this semester is that I get to spend time searching for clips, images and links to use in my "essay-formatted blog". So basically, I'm doing what I normally do, but it counts towards my grades. :)
