Sometimes the life-situation of someone you know seem so overwhelmingly horrible that it just gives an incredible sadness. My heart bleeds while it rolls around and around in my head just wishing that I could come up with the magic solution to solve it, make the burden lighter, take the pain away. I decided to make this public since it doesn't name names. I'm glad that you found it moving.

I know how you feel, hurting for someone else. I sometimes feel that way with my children. I just want to make the hurts go away! My mind knows they are responsible adults and will come through it all, but my heart wants to wipe it away.

Wiping away the pain. It's so much easier when children are small, isn't it?

I don't know for sure who you are addressing here, but it was so perfectly written and fits just right for what I have been thinking of someone I know who is going through hell right now.

You are beautiful, Gloria, and if the person you´re referring to sees this post it may just help a tiny bit for them to know that someone cares so much. It might not heal the situation but it will certainly provide comfort.

For me, knowing which words are just the right ones to say in a difficult situation is the hardest part of offering comfort. And then I remember that just the presence of someone who cares, the knowledge that we´re not facing the horror alone, is enough.

I know what you mean about having trouble in finding the words to offer comfort. You're absolutely right about just knowing that someone cares and that you're not facing it alone maybe doesn't fix it, but it matters.
