For some reason I have this feeling that in some part of the world -- I don't remember where -- they have this concept called "department stores" that have floors and floors of clothes and kind thoughtful non-Russian speaking sales ladies who are actually helpful and don't try forcing you into buying hideous things you don't want.  And not ALL the ( Read more... )

I wanted to return something today and the reason I was given for not being able to was something about them losing money from the credit card company blah blah. What about cash? I don't know. At least I got store credit.

The Mashbir is sort of like a department store, except that it's sorely lacking in clothing selection.

Agreed. And it has no competition. It's the only semi-department store we have. We must cherish it.

but so many department stores are so overpriced! plus, some of the department store ladies here ARE russian!
having said that, i will admit that i do enjoy a good trip to j.c. penney...
