I'm rolling in happiness today, mostly due to a spate of good news which I'll detail here in bullet form;

* I gots me a job! Well, the wonderful rambleman helped gets me a job. He had two going at his place of work (a book publishing company) which I applied for, but apparently there was fierce internal competition for those so I didn't really stand a ( Read more... )

It is good. Except for the sadness. But the rest is good.

The rest is great, yes.

The sadness; needs work.

Unfortunately, no. The silence could mean something, or it could not. Still an unsettled situation.

Same, re: The Fantastic Mr. Fox. I was a Roald Dahl nut as a kid, but this one was my favourite.

I'm yet to check out my local video store, but am guessing I'll have to wait for Netflix before seeing the original Funny Games - I reallyreallyreally wanna see it, even though Wade hates that stuff. Did you see the remake too? I love Michael Pitt from Hedwig And The Angry Inch, and he was also perfect as the wet-lipped childlike protagonist in the remake. I also love both Tim Roth and Naomi Watts, so it was a field day as far as casting goes. It goes on my DVDs To Buy list, as soon as I Get Money.

Dude, that's awesome. Congrats on employment, no matter how temporary.

You shall learn to fear the Midwest squirrels... oh yes...

Geeky movies I shall abble about later. We're in San Diego for Comic Con, so we'll be on Nerd Overload shortly...

Thank you honey, I'm tickled!

You and I (and our reluctant spouses) will have much geeky movie/comic babble, I'm sure. Lemme know when you're back and ready to come pick up some stuff.

Congratulations on the job news, Catt! It sounds like the situation there just keeps getting better, and I couldn't be happier for you! Soon you'll be talking about breasts again.
:-)

As far as Batman goes, I'm a comics nerd, but a very Old School comics nerd. I have to admit that I wasn't crazy about Batman Begins. As much as I like Frank Miller's work, there were some serious changes to the original canonical story that bugged me. And some things I've heard about Dark Knight bugged me, too. I won't get more specific, though, because I don't want to give away any spoilers I've read about.

Things are going well, yes...I'm trying to not anticipate the inevitable crunch, but hey, this time it might be for real. Breasts.

And HEY, I'm kinda old school comics too, you comic nerd elitist! See the movie, then we'll do battle.
