Dial up is a very inferior form of internet connection. However, free Dartmouth wireless anywhere on campus is a very good form of internet connection, only slightly marred by the fact that I have to go to Dartmouth to get it

'Rora, darling, I've missed you. I need serious writer's time with you. The stories have evolved and are taking a different shape. Also, ye olde thesis-ish-thing is going in a million different directions.
THANK GOD. I was getting worried. I was just about to the point of emailing Eilin for your parents' phone number, but then you posted on LJ, so good.
And there's not really anything wrong with taking a break (and many things good about it). On the other hand, I am freaking out about renting-an-apartment logistics, so we should talk. Not to pressure you or anything. But I really miss you, too, so.
And I sent you an email too--I thought it was sent a few hours ago and then found I hadn't actually hit send.
Sorry.
I know there's nothing wrong with taking a break, it's supposed to be well earned and all that, it's just leaving me and everyone else in limbo and I don't really like it there. (That and years of programming to think breaks=putting things off).
Yeah, I got it. I've started writing a reply, but I'm supposed to work this afternoon, so I'll probably finish it this evening or something.
Don't worry about it. Really.
Although I admit I'd like you to be out of limbo, too. I have to call Barbara tonight so I probably won't call you (I can only take so much phone time in one evening), but we can do the email thing and talk on the phone in a day or two. Maybe once I'm back in Madison on Friday and it doesn't have to be long distance $$ for either of us.
I'd try to give uplifting, sage advice, but I'm kinda in the same boat. So I'll just say that I love you lots, and you are also the awesomest awesome, and I'm sure it'll work out.
Thanks. I love you too. We'll all manage somehow. And really, how could we have properly planned our lives when we didn't know what we wanted to do with them until the last minute?
I've started to think about taking breaks as not only something to do when it's well-deserved, but something to do when it's what I want to be doing. I find that I have enough motivation and drive to do, do, do, that if I actually will enjoy relaxing, it probably means that it's what I should be doing.
I've also been cultivating my ability to relax, let go of all the "I shoulds," and enjoy every moment. I highly recommend all of these things. But if they don't work, you do indeed deserve a break!
