My mom has a trans guy in her quilting class.  It's actually a couple - a woman and an FtoM guy.  The other day in class she was trying to get the class to quiet down and said something like "ladies, ladies, let's quiet down," and the wife called her on being exclusionary.  She apologized and said "oh yes, and gentleman."  When she was telling me ( Read more... )

Yesterday I went to massage clinic and we were evacuated because the ceiling fell.  Nobody was hurt - and the building is still supposedly structurally sound.  But all the plaster came down in one room... just a little scary.

Since clinic was cancelled I was able to go shopping and got my first pair of Keens - they just seem so practical for going ( Read more... )

Today I went to a 4.5 hour introductory course to the five elements of Chinese Medicine.  It was so wonderful!  I think that I am fire with wood second and earth third.  The other two elements are metal and water ( Read more... )

I gave my notice a few weeks ago and will be leaving my current position at MHC on February 15. It's more sad than I thought it would be to leave Massachusetts and the town I've called home for almost 6 years now. It's such a beautiful place with such warm and intelligent people.
