Burt, Kurt, Sandy Rhyerson. TW: Mentions of Pedophilia, but nothing overtly graphic.

The reason Kurt didn't join glee is Freshman year? Burt refused to let him join that club.

He didn't like the way the director, Sandy, was acting towards his son. During Registration day when Kurt is looking at all the clubs, Sandy sees him eyeing the glee club flyer and chats him up.

When Burt comes around the corner, he sees Kurt talking to Mr. Rhyerson. And then sees Rhyerson's hand go from his son's shoulder, and slowly move down his back until it rests just above his son's ass. And when he hears Rhyerson say that Kurt looks SO much like the dolls he collects at home (which he can see when he comes over for private vocal lessons) Burt puts his foot down.

And you know Kurt, he just doesn't notice, he sees the good in everyone.

So this ended up addressing both what Burt being protective of Kurt and what Burt and Kurt's relationship might have been like before he came out, with Kurt always wondering if his dad would accept him and Burt not knowing how to communicate that he would accept him. I hope it fits what you wanted :D

Love this, and now i kinda want to read more about how Sandy uses Kurt's fears about his father and his sexuallity to get closer to Kurt in school :D
