Looking for a Beta - Re: BETA Thread_auberginedreamJune 25 2011, 05:19:43 UTC
I'm filling a response for this prompt. [Klaine, enema, embarrassment]
This is my first Glee fic and I've never had anything else Beta read before. I'm completely comfortable with the medical aspects of the prompt so I need help with more technical aspects of filling and making sure that Kurt stays IC.
At this exact moment I'm halfway through at 2000 words. I'm probably going to finish by tonight because once I stop writing I tend to not start again.
It's RPF Pairing is Max/Chris I've written the first part now and since English isn't my native language there are quite a few mistakes in it (grammar spelling) And if someone wants to beta and wants to change some other things apart from grammar and spelling (you know style. My English might sound strange sometimes)I would love you forever :)
If you are looking for a fic and can not find it on delicious, please comment in reply to this comment and hopefully someone will be able to find it for you!

There was a fic with the premise of what if Kurt disappeared and they never found him or his body, and the fic had to do with specifically the fallout of the unresolved disappearance. Several fills were made but it doesn't seem to be under either the hostage/kidnapping or crime categories.

I was looking for a prompt where Puck is raped and calls Mr. Schue... I can't seem to find it on Delicious, but I'm kinda clueless when it comes to stuff like that.

Alot of what she says can be too much. Yeah she's, well, Sue, but there's funny and then there's calling a troubled scared pregnant girl fat and a failure.

Over the last few months, we have had a few private complaints from people offended by the use of particular words or phrases in prompts due to various connotations being applicable. As always, we welcome such comments and input, however it makes for a difficult situation to moderate as the prompt is technically within the Rules. Subsequently, any comment on the prompt post could be seen as calling-out/attacking a prompt, which would create a discussion that detracts from the spirit of the meme
( ... )
We've had some feedback that a certain phrase often intended as comfort or to elaborate that love & concern is unconditional, comes across as potentially problematic. The comparison typically is that of LGBTQ individuals to animals or aliens, often said in the general form of I'd still love you if you are gay, straight or in love with an animal.
This kind of sentiment is usually meant a as gesture of comfort and a perception that the person saying it is open-minded to LGBTQ issues. However, in context of grouping parts of society, such as LGBTQ sexuality to the love of animals or aliens, something which is not seen as acceptable, this type of comment may come across as self-hating and inappropriate.
Therefore we are opening up a discussion-- when would the use of grouping LGBTQ to other groups of society be appropriate, and perhaps as problematic?
The Asian jokes. Chicken feet salad and panda hair tea? Really? They exist? (ok, fine, I just googled and to my chagrin the salad does exist, just not quite in the Chinese cuisine, as it is otherwise implied). The Asian jokes seem to have tapered off, but the show has already impressed me as being racist. Get this, I'm not even Asian American, just someone ethnically Chinese from SE Asia.
