OT - That Scene/s

Does anyone have that one scene in a TV show/movie that, no matter how many times you've seen it, you still cry and you feel silly for crying?
It doesn't matter how many times I've seen the previews for The Hunger Games, I still cry every single time Katniss yells 'I volunteer!'
Also the first Wizards of Waverly Place movie, which is a show my little sisters watch, when Alex is begging Justin to help her and not leave her right after she won the competition.

I have a ridiculous amount that I'll cry at. The ending of Free Willy? I cry. Every. Damn. Time. Half the father/son moments on Numb3rs,sniffling, especially if it's one where he's reaffirming his never ending love for a child

Prompt Discussion - MinemannadisanicolaFebruary 28 2012, 17:51:34 UTC
So, I'm not saying it was in good taste for me to prompt about a school shooting, but this is the angst meme, I thought to myself. Except there was an actual school shooting yesterday in Ohio.
Friends, Romans, countrymen, please advise: should I just delete my prompt and pretend it never happened or what?
Re: Prompt Discussion - MinerosesofnightMarch 1 2012, 09:39:00 UTC
Mod wise, there isn't a particular issue unless the meme in whole is upset by the prompt. We've had prompts garnered by the Japan Tsunami, CHCH earthquake and other ones, and a few prompts where what they've prompted has actually happened to someone else.
Therefore, I guess it comes down to how comfortable you are with the prompt staying up. If you want to delete it, you may, or keep it up if you wish to.
O/T - You Can Play

There are days that suck but there are days where I'm so happy and proud to see people taking a stand against bullying and homophobia. You Can Play is the NHL, big name players with endorsement deals, saying that it's not okay to bully and that a gay athlete can play sports. Hopefully more athletes from other sports join the cause. I think it's amazing. http://youcanplayproject.org/

Due to our pinboard being overhauled and the closing of our delicious account, if you are looking for a fic, please comment here. We will look for your prompt as soon as we can, or others may have it bookmarked.

I'm looking for a prompt and I can't seem to find it. There was a prompt about Sebastian being abused and calling Blaine after being badly hurt awhile ago. I have started a fill but I lost the prompt.
Re: GPA Discussion & ValedictoriangammodsMarch 10 2012, 21:20:29 UTC
I think the first question that needs to be asked is if the school even cares about the awards. They don't care about actually educating the kids, they just want them out of there. The second would be what awards would be have. Highest GPA, top athlete, extracuricular award, community award, plus any scholarships to be awarded. The only person who is probably screwed about any awards or scholarships is Sam since he transfered partway into the year but there could be enough small scholarships for each graduating Gleek to earn one since not all are based on GPA. My city's smaller than Lima by a fair bit but our grad class had 53 different students get some kind of scholarship.
Re: GPA Discussion & ValedictoriangammodsMarch 10 2012, 22:02:37 UTC
Considering the high focus portrayed on the Cheerleaders & Jocks to be at the "top", plus comments about funding & such, I could genuinely see the awards being focused towards the sports, or atleast the people getting the top awards having been involved in sports.
Therefore, I could see the school does technically care about the awards, but only in a minimal way where the people who gets the top awards is used to secure funding. Y/N?
I know Glee doesn't think on these things, but could Sam actually have trouble graduating? He's transferred in and out of 3 schools in about 18 months, and apparently wasn't at school in Kentucky, atleast not always, so is it realistic for him to be able to graduate, or could there be certain issues?

IA, I doubt Glee thinks about those things but I'd find it realistic if Sam didn't have enough credit courses or the right courses to graduate. Just like I wouldn't be surprised if the more lax curriculum and uncaring teachers caused Blaine's grades to suffer since he came from a seemingly stricter school with a heavier and better workload. Instead of a 10 page book report in two weeks, it's a five page report in a month and a half so he keeps putting it off until uh oh, it's due tomorrow or he completely forgets.

That shoe seriously broke me, I usually cry but this was a full out sob thing.
For that fact alone I believe it's a pretty good movie (would have still been good without the shoe /grumbles) thanks for letting me know the name.
