unrelated rant

So I spent a bit at ff_a and I was witness to wank between people who're foodies and look down on others for not knowing everything there's to know about cooking, organic food, elaborate recipes etc, and people who weren't privileged to have parents teach them how to cut an onion.
And ok, my mom isn't the best cook so I've mostly taught myself by reading recipe books and watching other people cook, but srsly? You're on the fucking internet, if you don't know how to julienne an onion, just look it up on youtube. I get the first group are snobs, but the internet is full of people who love explaining how they do things from cooking food to masturbation techniques.

I've met TWO people this year who don't know how to peel an onion, and try to do it without cutting it first. I don't get it. My mom never taught me how to cook anything that didn't come out of a can (or a pill bottle), but I managed to figure out plenty of things.

Idgi either, nonnie. Fine, maybe you can't afford to have fresh food at home all the time because you're barely there working three jobs and you don't feel like cooking on your one day off, but if you're posting on the internet, you can google a website that will explain what the confusing word on a recipe is. Don't blame it all on your mom because she gave you tv dinners all your childhood.

oh, nonnie. that wank went on and on and on. I don't think that privileged is necessarily the right word, the argument didn't really go to quite that level of SJ discourse, iirc. FFA has had a history of discussing things to death like how so many people don't learn to cook as kids any more and don't know where to start. So, to my eyes it looked like the wank got blown out of proportion by people new to the meme that just wanted to call people dumbasses and weren't necessarily familiar with how the topic had been discussed in the past.
I can cook, for the record. :P I've even taken a few culinary classes, so I'm probably not very objective about the topic and I was on the side of not calling people too stupid to live for not knowing how to cut an onion. Knives are dangerous!

about America and Mercedes watching in the audience
Sophy says: I will never be okay with the Troubletones being okay. I don’t even think Santana should be in the musical. It was a Glee Club initiative funded by the Glee Club. She shouldn’t be able to just wantonly betray them (again!) and still be one of the gang (again!)
And Mercedes can smile in the audience all she likes. She’s still a dumb bitch.
There I said it.
(And I’ll say it again.)
Rin says: YES. Seriously. Why does she get to partake in the joy? YOU MADE YOUR DECISION TO WALK OUT ON THE SHOW. You weren’t EVEN RIGHT FOR MARIA. And yet???

they're two Faberry stans with ... interesting opininos. in addition to their thoughts on Mercedes, and LZ when she was on the show, they're HUGE fans of Will/Emma and think Darren is rly talented.
finn/rachel sex scene:
I also thought the corresponding Rachel/Finn scene that followed was nicely done. Except that I’m a bit twitchy at the whole ‘I don’t have big dreams like you’ angle. Are you trying to muscle in on Faberry’s plotline, Finn? ARE YOU??
on darren:
Sophy says: BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL. Can I just say that Darren Criss is a wonderful actor? And I’m not a stan. I’d never seen his Harry Potter thingy, and besides, I’m always too busy stanning for Lea Michele when it comes to Glee, so. My completely unbiased opinion is that the kid has serious talent, both in terms of the musical numbers and the straight acting. Um.

Never heard of these people, but I should have guessed they were Faberry shippers based on their intense hatred for Mercedes (then again, Kammers tend to have that same hatred, so).
Holy shit nonnie, I think that might actually be true. I never even considered that, because I honestly didn't think joyful was smart enough to have a sock.

lol, she didn't even try to make Kurt's face in the first one not look like the reference model. Also, I like the bubbles behind underwater!Kurt's head in place of the ponytail in the original.
Obvious tracing is obvious.
Tbh, I'm more burgundy that she's using the striped tank of Puckurt foreshadowing for Kurtofsky fanart tho

I love how they pride themselves on being a nice, reasonable, respectable ship that is just ~~~~misunderstood... until someone dares disagree with their woobie!Karofsky headcanon. Then their true colors come out.

da
one of the things that bugged me about pilgrimkitty's post on ffr was how she talked about how the ~Klainers and ~Kummers ganged up on the ~poor pirates at glee live and physically bullied them. That did not ring true to me, not only because Kummers would sooner join up with pirates than the Kurt/Blaine shippers, but also because there were a lot of security guards and adults there and because it's ridic.
I think that Kurtofsky shippers are actually among the more awful of the shippers, and I'm not sure how they kept the ~nice image for so long.
