All the pretty Blaine creys between Ohio and Boston

My exams are over! I can re-submerge myself in the warm gooey core of g_a! Feels gooood. I HAVE IMPORTANT QUESTION THO: I am aware of the general consensus on most of the Klaine BNFs. Aelora - cray cray, STS - brilliant (DO NOT ARGUE WITH ME), Joyful - OH DEAR GOD WHAT EVEN MY ETERNAL LULZ AT DR MIKE CHANG, Pyro - no, just no.
But, do we have a vibe on rm? Or am I the only one who JUST. CAN'T. STAND. IT. Why do many reviews? Why? How? YOUR BLAINE: IT IS A SELF INSERT. IT IS, LIKE, "MY IMMORTAL" LEVELS OF SELF INSERT. SO MUCH ANGST. SO MUCH WHINING.
Normally I'm all "you like what you like and THAT'S OKAY," but I really just needed to get this off my chest. I feel so alone. ALONE IN MY RM AMBIVALENCE. AND OVERUSE OF ALL-CAPS.

I've had g_a blocked with a Chrome extension for, like, a month during exams. SO MUCH WANK I HAVE MISSED. I don't think I'll properly recover. So yes, enthusiasm, I has it.
Dr. Mike Chang

Question:
I tried to read the Joyful fic a long time ago and couldn't get through St. Everyone, but what was so awful about Mike Chang being a doctor/researcher? I mean, I know canon's now made it clear he does not want to be, but the last season and this one they've made him academically smart, and he never said anything before that to make me think he was lacking- just that he was a bit of a goofball. Is it how she made him become a doctor? Pre-Asian F, I could have seen it, just because there was no reason not to see it, you know?

It was mostly when it was written, Mike was just a quiet jock who liked dancing and that was all of his characterization. The Dr. both came out of nowhere and was also ridiculous in the way all the other over the top achievements were, because they were inspired by Kurt and voila, magical cure. It was like a 12 year old writing a wish fulfillment fantasy for every one of her favorite characters, except not as cute because it wasn't written by a twelve year old.

It wasn't that Mike was a doctor/researcher, it was that he was DOCTOR MIKE CHANG, MAYO CLINIC RESEARCHER AND THE PERSON WHO DISCOVERED THE CURE FOR HUNTINGTON'S. And that literally everyone in ND ended up massively rich and/or famous. I think Sam was a NFL quarterback? And LZ and Tina were Oscar-winning filmmakers? And ofc Rachel was a Tony-winning Broadway star. It was ridiculous.
Your place in fandom

What is it? (e.g. strangerbitch, well-known fanartist, etc.) Do you have fandom friends? Are you happy with how you participate in fandom? Is there a certain perception of you/your fanwork in fandom, and if so, do you think that perception is accurate? What would you change about your fandom involvement, if anything?

I'm a no-name stranger. I participate almost totally anon in fandom and have for the past two years. Before I went anon, I was a little to MNF in a couple of biggish fandoms. I'm happy staying anon and writing occasional commentfic and fic meme fills anon when I want to write.

I'm not a well known author or a BNF, but I'm not unknown either. People know who I am, but that is mostly because I've made an effort to make friends with people (both here at g_a and through fandom communities). I have a tumblr that I post stuff I like at, and other people seem to like it, too. I write fic sometimes, and by and large people seem to enjoy it. I wrote one fic which seems to be ~noted for a few reasons, and it isn't likely that I'll write anything that will top it, ever

Morrison says people have been speculating on his sexuality since he was young, due to his penchant for singing and dancing. But he definitely likes girls!
