"It's just a date dad. I'm 17, I should be allowed to go on them," Kurt replied.
"DO you have a pentacle? Cell phone? Holy water? Salt? Your gun?"
"All of the above," Kurt reassured his dad, patting the messenger bag he had slung over his shoulder. "Besides, I already tested Blaine twice, Dad, he's not a demon."
"Don't trust the little hobbit," Burt grumbled. "Nobody's that cheerful without dark forces being involved."
"Dad, you promised I could be a normal kid! At least for a little bit!"
"Yeah, yeah," Burt said. "Take care of yourself, id, call at the first sign of trouble."
"I will," Kurt said, hugging his dad tightly. "And don't forget, ust because salt keeps ghosts away does not mean it's okay for you to eat any! I already made your dinner, it's on the table. Carole's working the graveyard shift and Finn's sleeping over at Puck's."
"Be careful, Kurt, please," Burt said again.
"I will dad," Kurt promised his father. "It's just a date."
Kurt is a former Starfleet officer now Maquis and Starfleet officer Lieutenant Commander Blaine Anderson has the unfortunate (or really fortunate) pleasure of being Kurt's mark for a mission.
