eh, I don't really believe in detoxing or cleansing either. I'm still eating mostly normal for breakfast and lunch.

This whole thing started because I want to start getting more fiber in my diet. And more vegetables. And it seemed relatively easy and I've heard from multiple people that it was pretty good.
Plus with this soup diet you are still eating meat and stuff, so it's not like you're "starving"

I've really gotten into soup lately in general. But I'm picky about the type of soup I eat. Progresso is the best canned soup IMO. but it has lots of salt.

This soup is basically a ton of cooked vegetables. I think next time I make it (probably after the new year) I'll make less of it and alter some of the vegetable content. More tomatoes and carrots, less zucchini and cabbage. I like zucchini a lot but it's a little too sweet for this soup.
I think the other key thing is it's got basically no carbs. Even the carbs you add to it are not flour-based so the refined carbs are low. And snacks are reduced/eliminated.

We decided not to eat the minestrone or the greek fish stew. So far we've tried the mexican chicken soup, the red beans and rice, and the thai shrimp stew (substituting chicken)

the thai is great, but would be better if there was a bit of curry powder in it. The red beans and rice were great. The mexican chicken soup tasted good but needed a little "something extra" in it, like rice or something.

A word of advice: the recipe is PLENTY for two people. Don't bother doubling it. If you are eating it alone, I'd recommend cutting it in half! I doubt Brian and I together will even finish it by the end of the week.
