mocha is doing much better at the moment

we are pretty certain that there is nothing internally wrong
all of her blood levels are fine
liver, kidney, heart functions, chest x rays
all good

apparently mocha has a bad case of arthritis in her hips
for which pain management is the key

SO
mocha has been with me for over 17 years
i can't even begin to imagine my life without her

for the past 48 hours i have had to do just that
saturday morning she woke me up with odd breathing
and then splayed on the floor
we took her to the vet
who ran blood tests and x-rayed her
and pronounced her ok
put her on new pain meds

my friend carries mom passed away last night
it was unexpected and sudden
i don't have any of the details

the benefit tag/garage/yard sale that was planned for saturday will still be taking place
with all the proceeds going to offset the cost of her funeral

i am at a total loss for words
