Preparing to leave Rivendell

Feb 01, 2004 16:41

The sun had already risen midway in the morning sky before Diamond woke the next day. Since she was by nature an early riser, she first mistook the golden light flooding across the coverlet on her bed as the first light of dawn. It wasn't until she actually got out of bed and looked out the window that she realized with surprise that she had slept ( Read more... )

*Arwen caught Diamond just before she left*

Garo lend vaer, Diamond. It means good journey.

*she knelt down and hugged Diamond*

We hope to see you again, soon. And if I see your companions, I will hasten their steps to catch up with you.

*Diamond hugs back. She is very fond of Arwen.*

Thank your brothers and uncles for their hospitality. And especially thank your brother Elladan! His trick about the troll meat reminded me very much of pranks my own brothers would pull on me. It made me feel quite at home! He seems to be a very lovely fellow indeed. You're fortunate to have such a loving family here.

As for my companions... I am sure that they are about here somewhere! They both knew that I meant to leave at break of day today, so they must be close by.

Erestor rushes over just in time to see Arwen leaving. He looks at Diamond and kneels to talk with her. "My sincerest apologies, my lady, for not seeing to you earlier. It has been a very poor visit for you in terms of our manners, but I beg your indulgence. I had a small problem with one of the twins that Glorfidnel and I needed to tend to."

Erestor looked uncomfortable. "I am afraid we have asked Loki to leave Rivendell. He toyed with Elladan in a way I find unacceptable and I think it best that way. Please understand that you and your family as well as your very cute blond companion are always welcome back here.

Please, is there anything else that you need for your trip?"

*mortified that someone she brought with her would do anything to offend the elves*

*tears spring to her eyes*

Oh, I am so terribly sorry! I didn't know.

Loki raises an eyebrow. "Nothing for you to apologise for, m'lady. I am the one who apparently did something offensive and they are the ones who got offended." He shrugs.

*wipes tears from her eyes.*

*isn't sure what to think about trickster_loki now*

*somewhat coldly* Perhaps we can discuss it after we've left. We should be going now, but we can't leave without Iolaus_lj. Where is he? Was he with you?

Loki was actually standing nearby. One has to wonder exactly how he got there without being noticed, but there it was. He narrowed his eyes just slightly at Erestor's statement about him, but makes no comment on it, instead stepping forward so he is noticed. "Is there anything else you might need help with, Diamond?"

No one around him would be able to see his annoyance at what had just transpired up on the balcony, in fact, he appears to have brushed it off and completely forgotten about it.

Very OOC - sorry! terrible_dragon February 1 2004, 17:21:53 UTC
Smaug's mun here! I just had to let you know how much I'm enjoying your Quest. Of course Smaug himself can't be bothered keeping his eye on you the whole way, but be sure he's looking forward to your arrival! *G* You may have noticed him being a little irritated at the time this journey is taking, but please be assured that's entirely him - I'm thoroughly enjoying every step of the way!

I'm very flattered that Smaug's interest in the Cleve has sparked off such an epic adventure, and I do hope I can do it justice once the goal is reached. I'm afraid I don't post quite as frequently as you so please bear with me at that point.

Incidentally, is there an email address we could use to discuss the direction of the roleplay once Diamond does reach the Withered Heath? I have a couple of ideas which might need some mun planning and OOC information. I understand if you'd rather keep your identity private, in which case maybe we could come up with another solution (my own lj?)

OOC reply:

This is turning into a grand adventure, isn't it! I'm pleased. Looks like Smaug and the elves may have some fun in the future, too!

You can send me a note to this: saraqael2000@_nospam_yahoo.com

Obviously, take the 'nospam' out.
