today america decided to vote for barack obama to be the 44th president.

it's really difficult to express how proud i am.
unbelievably proud.
and emotional.
and excited.
and, of course, full of hope.

i am so glad that this was my first presidential election.

i cannot wait til january.

for our birthday, i gave dustin the fake flowers from the centerpiece i won at the wedding last night, and he gave me a cracked sabres mug he mysteriously found in his truck.

perfect.

so i'm not the hugest shakespeare fan, and i'm not the hugest poetry fan, but...

i've derived some pleasure when reading poetry before, but i've felt nothing like this before, ever.

i can't let this pass by without mention.
