I was reminded today that being healthy doesn't have to involve complicated diets, suppliments, or contraptions.

Get plenty of rest
Eat well
Drink plenty of water
Stay warm (or cool, depending on the season)
Be grateful

Just the basics can make a big difference in our health and wellbeing.

It's currently 74 degrees in Seattle, which means it is time for peanut butter cookies. It's supposed to get to 82 today again, which probably calls for cool compresses for the forehead. I thought yesterday was the first day of fall. 82 makes Seattle HOT. Kitty is sitting in a sunbeam and I am working from home, well taking a break from working at ( Read more... )

My view from inside. When my mom came to visit she said sitting in the living room was was like being inside a greenhouse. This is why I am a homebody, I think. I like the contrast of the dark against the light and the reflections in the photos.

So if you are ever having a bad day, I suggest you take a look at some of the videos from the Salon of Shame. You will not regret it.

The Salon of Shame is a production where the participants read journal entries, song lyrics and poetry from the journals of their youth.

Here are some pictures of a tiny urban garden I found over the railroad tracks. I saw it the other day and almost couldn't find it when I went back to take some photos. It is really easy to miss. This little plot of land is so well tended and sweet. It makes me so happy to know that it exists.
