And the rest of my life

I've been "into" massaging for a few years now: I love giving massages, I can tell what hurts or ails you - and I'm often able to DO something about it ( Read more... )

Yes, LJ was very good for that. I haven't been as open and as forthcoming as you and many others, but I'm learning to open up online.

I miss you and some of the others now that Pool is gone. It was such a good way to get to know each other, and such an eclectic group.
I also wish I knew you better.

I want a massage! :)
"our muscles remember tramatic events," I would believe that. I found that really interesting, really, I just read it this moment and it struck me in a way, you know when things just strike you. I know I was supposed to learn that today, in those words.

blaming you for suicide? That's horrible. I'm really sorry you had to go through something like that. I'm sure you know, at least intellectually, you are not to blame. I send good energy your way, and hope soon you will really heal.

My goal is to massage a different person every day, though that's proven impossible. if you want a massage, I'm always looking for people to work on :)
When I went into Rolfing, I didn't really BELIEVE that our muscles "remember" traumatic events, but it didn't take me very long to learn that they do. The person I mentioned has bad knees that no doctor could cure becuase there didn't seem to be anything wrong with them. His pain was real, of course, and frankly I don't think his knees will bother him again; not unless he injures them or develops osteoporousis.
Thank you for the healing thoughts, that means a lot to me.

ah, if I am ever in Massachusettes you should definitely give me a massage! :D
It's like psychology. There was one case where a boy heard his parents fight so much, he went deaf. Some people who've had really tramatic experiences will lose their use of a limb, and soforth. Mental trama manifests itself in the body, etc. I always found these cases really interesting.

Sadly, I've seen the result of abuse almost every time I've done body work on someone. Especially girls and women.
Some people are not able to "let go", no matter how skilled the therapist (be it massage therapist or phsychologist) is; I hope that my sense of letting go is based on reality (and I think it is), I've seen SO many people who feel that they purged the past only to realize all they did was bury it deeper...

You're making me blush, Ange, and that's probably not the first time. I think your e-mails about your situation helped stir this realization in me, and I'm very grateful to you for it, and the trust you've shown me; it makes me humble, and glad.
Thank you!!!!

Thank you so much. I'm always amazed by your ability to empathize and understand, to put things so eloquently.
You're one of the people I'd love to meet in the fleshworld someday.
