This entry makes me miss Latin America! I love that part of the world. They are all so silly! Traveling there has definately taught me to lighten the hell up. I was so serious before I went there.
I also really like your writing style. It's way engaging and kept me interested. Where did you go? Is this in L.A? Do you work with the Cielo Project? I want details woman!

Yeah I met Mariella downtown actually and the subject happened to come up and she invited me to hang out with her family for Sunday lunch after church. It was even stranger considering I had only known this woman for a couple of hours. But everyone was seriously very nice and lighthearted. It reminded me a lot of So. Cal and my neighbors there. They're always laughing and shouting :-)

That is sooo Latino of her! It's so easy to find a place to stay, or people to kick it with down there. Mostly in the smaller villages, but it is so neat how socially trustworthy most folks seems to be. There's this air of what I like to call "social responsibility" similar to the description in Writing Across Culture about the way Swedes view freedom. Very refreshing!
