FANART LOVE MEME

Nov 15, 2007 16:24

How much do I love the new 'edit comment' feature that LJ's sporting? Thos Thsi Tihs much. XDAlso, I feel like a total wretched cad for my last post. Hey Glock, let's see how sad and unhappy you can make people about their art! It isn't enough for artists to beat themselves up constantly over their art skills, I think it'll be better to create a ( Read more... )

Of course, I'll go first because I'm vain, it'll encourage others.

I love my art! I do; it hasn't let me down so far and I love that it's given me a passion to notice and observe things IRL that non-artists might not even see.

I love that I have a mad need to learn and incorporate techniques and people's ideas and styles into my art. I love that I prefer using other people's ideas to draw from; that attitude guarantees that I can make my art into my profession.

Also, I love that people love the way I draw. I really, really, REALLY do. It makes me think I'm doing something right. Hurrah!

I love how there's no other artist's work that looks like yours. You embrace your 'style' and I respect that above all else.

You have a magic of expression and your style only enhances it.

The biggest thing I love about your art is that you use a lot of traditional media (ie. watercolours!) when creating. A lot of art these days is coloured (and sometimes drawn) solely in Photoshop or a program akin to it. That isn't knocking digital media, but it's so nice and REFRESHING to see people still using traditional media for their colours.

Furthermore, I love the uniqueness of your art. It's easy to "pick out a Glock" from a row of pictures, which makes your art neat and unique!

I love that your style has evolved in the few years I've been in fandom. I love that you've incorporated so much more into it than you were before.

I also love your harry and his expression. I think you capture his personality in his face. :D

1) Comment with your name and say why you love your own art/making art.

I can draw things things that I would like to see, for instance, taking an incredibly hot actor in an historical drama who would never need a nude scene, but if the director ain't supplying, I CAN.

Equally take two straight young men and have them in an intense and erotic scene together.

Make costumes for JRockers that look good! Minus fringe and streamers and excessive sequins.

Hopefully help spread the love of black and white art! *waves banner*

I LOVE how clean and clear your artwork is. It is all about the lines for you, and I adore that sort of attention to detail.

Also, I seriously majorly respect you as an artist, and your artistic integrity. You are definitely a person I value to learn from.

And finally, YAY costume making!!! *HEE*

I don't know where it stems from, but I become fanatic about the line, perhaps because you are trying to capture movement in a static form, or using only line you can't cheat by using texture - and color - to hide mistakes. Having said that, I realize that people will always prefer color to black and white and I have to work on that.

You are answering your own meme right? So I can respond to you?

Well, if I can't make the costumes RL, at least I can design them, and I have had costumes made from my drawings for theatre (yay) I grew up ogling Erte.

Thanks for the props! I myself am in awe of your abilities, and I've been glad to get to know you as an individual, as well as a great artist.

DUDE. I love to see you making art. I love that you take the time to think carefully about how and why you're doing it. A lot of people tend to pump out quantity, not quality, but you are good and making sure something is to your satisfaction. That's the sign of a true artistis temperament.

*MWAH*

HA! Thought you'd get away from the meme, didn't you? XD

This took me a few decades to find, but find it I did. Just because I can say it, I shall - you take the most interesting, odd or abstract ideas and bring them to life with a kick and zing. Even when they are teensy. Every single character has their own and well, you see a lot that many others don't.

:P

I'm a little fond of my art. ♥

I like it because I'm actually seeing tremendous improvement in my work, from years ago.

I'm remarkably impatient when it comes to sitting down to do it, so me having learned to take the time, instead of just scribbling, is making a world of difference.

I love how attractive and appealing your art is. Some people draw fanart just so that others can ooohh and ahh; inevitably, it looks dead. I look at your stuff and I can see the effort and attention and love that you imbibe the art and characters with and that kind of art always pleases me the mostest.

Also? Your lighting skills are teh awesome when you colour!!

The emotion in your art is really lovely, and also the way you color has this gentle soft feel that I really like.

I totally agree that you can see a huge improvement in your art. Not even from years ago, just months! Your art evolved and improved so much in such a short amount of time. :) And I always love your colors - they're so lively and pretty. I kind of associate you with a nice, vibrant red. <33333

I am a total noob with not very much posted art on the internet (very small LJ collection, and a small DeviantArt gallery) but I am GETTING there.

My favourite bit about my art? The sketchiness of it. Sure it looks unfinished (like it is a lot of the time), but for someone who has difficulty making her art pop, the lines and scribbles everywhere always make my art look more fluid than it does after I've cleaned it up. Sketchiness ahoy!

I like your art! I didn't really know you until I met you a prophecy, but I loved your drawings. They have a personality that stands out even though you might be a 'noob' on the art interwebs. :D

It's true, little lady - give it oh, Janurary 08? And you won't be able to call yourself n00b artist any longer, you'll be a seasoned fanartist, HEEEE!!!

I really want to encourage you to draw more and post more. *peer pressurrrrre*

And your art! You have an adorable comic-strip style of drawing. And I don't mean those fugly comic strips; I mean the ones with sweet, loveable rounded drawings where people read for the art as well as the story. What I like about your art is that you don't need words to tell the story; the characters you draw says it all. That is not easy to do in art, but you make them look alive.

And YAY sketchy! Sketchy is AWESOME. High five to that!
