The IRONY that just last week the Casting Director was all: '"The best actors were cast, and that was it."' I GUESS NOT.

Honestly, I'm not all that happy about it. Yay for booting McCartney but it doesn't address the white-washing issue. I also feel that Zuko shouldn't be south asian, but that's just the vibe I got from the show. Yeah, it's a nitpick. Can't we move Patel to Sokka, recast Katara, and cast a new Zuko? I know that means tossing out pale!Katara but maybe she could play Ty Lee (sorry, I know that's still *facepalm* but Ty Lee is the palest person I can think of).

Has Paramount mentioned any of the older characters like Iroh and Zhao? They better not cast a white Iroh or I will cut someone.

I totally agree. I'm completely baffled at the choice of Patel as Zuko because he would've made so much SENSE as Sokka; but of course I'm completely NOT baffled by Hollywood's MONEYMONEYMONEY motivation to boot Jesse and pick up the Next Hottest Non-Sollywood-SE Asian star for the flick.

Y'know, if I was more of a conspiracy theorist (ok, I kinda am), I'd also start wondering how much of their decision to recast Zuko so...strangely was because they KNEW it would throw is Cuh-razy Angry Fanzors into schisms of WTFery? Like, we'd all lose focus and start in-fighting and forget the main issue?
