I'm just smiling at the thought of all the nerds blindly reacting to the news thinking only of what they see on the Disney Channel and nothing else.

I saw another comment that said it best: Disney the Company is much different then Disney the Brand.

Personally, though, and in all seriousness, I am slightly concerned. Comics, like cartoons, are seen as a kid's medium and therefore should not be dark or mature.

On the other hand, given some of the things Quesada has done to Marvel, Disneyfication may be an improvement.

On the third hand, with Eisner no longer at the helm, Disney is slowly climbing out of the craphole it has made for itself. The Princess and the Frog will be a surefire indicator of how that's going.

Well, the corporation as a whole also owns Miramax, Touchstone and ESPN so yeah, I'm totally with you with the Disney the Company versus Disney the Brand. (And really, it'd be kind of stupid of Disney not to have some stake in adult oriented entertainment. Er, not that type.

However, I just find the jokes too amusing. And I would not be adverse to Disney doing a Spider-Man loves Mary Jane cartoon if they so wanted. :3

Plus, deep pockets is probably a good thing for Marvel now.

Probably. I'm just remembering the hash that ABC became after Disney took it over.

However, that was under Eisner, so who knows what this will be like.

Clearly there needs to be a no holds barred Eisner-Deadpool grudge match tour?

... okay, now I'm just getting silly. :3

I've never been able to see the appeal of Facebook, but not for lack of trying. It always seemed to me like a site that's only truly appealing if you're bored at work. It's always skeeved me out that people I know IRL can find me so easily and latch onto me on there, and even though I'm don't have any qualms about making my positions and opinions known to anyone online or off, something about that always makes me hesitant to use Facebook like I do other services.

You hit the nail right on the head, compadre. There are a lot of people who have a steady work-play-work-play schedule when they go to work, heh.

I guess it's the everyperson's version of BNFery? I've noticed it becomes an issue of who has the most friends, so they just try to befriend EVERYONE in a desperate attempt to look beloved? LAWL. I got LJ for that, thanks.

It's really great for planning stuff with friends, I admit. Send out a mass Facebook 'email' which for some reason is more guaranteed to reach the person than sending a group email to their ACTUAL accounts.
