I realize that this is highly unoriginal, so feel freeee to ignore. But I would just ♥ a little expansion on the last scene of A Very Supernatural Christmas, or a little coda, if you will.

For reasons obvious to anyone but his brother, Sam has been maudlin over thoughts of holidays past and future this entire case and not feeling up to celebrating Christmas this year. He can't just sit there like it's normal when it's not, a night that will really pound home the fact of their situation. The easiest thing to do would be to pull away

He's going to answer Dean. He's going to say something, and he's going to say something, because the game's ending and his silence will be suspect. But the magazines Dean bought him are lying glossy on the table next to the shaving cream, and Sam sees double. It's another life, suddenly. He sees how, in another reality, they'd flip through porn and shave at the sink and point out spots the other had missed, all the same but minus the vertigo of the impending and impossible absence of his brother. A future like that would warrant the Christmas tree and the presents, anything but this broken ditch of an ending they're hurtling toward

Holy shite, S. I love this soooo much. It's so full of Sam angst and so gloriously hurty! And then there's all the goodness of them getting too close on the couch. And the smooching. \o/

Whee! I'm so glad you liked it. This episode completely broke my heart. It was gorgeous and poignant and just a testament to how much they love each other and how time is running out. God, just thinking about it. I hope you had a great Christmas!
