o to see them cussin' like sailors sons of a Marine, in canon, I have to readjust my worldview. But I LIKE IT omg it made me all swoopy.
You know, I'm a Highlander fan, and that's a really .... PG sort of show a lot of the time. And the TV show was based on the original films, but it used entirely new characters. When they made a movie based on the TV show - using the TV show characters - everyone was allowed to curse. And it was so upsetting to me. I mean, I had no problems with them cursing in fanfic, but to hear Duncan MacLeod actually use the f-word?!? I was very shocked.
I've actually gotten thrown out of fic, occasionally, if Sam and Dean curse in a way that seems gratuitous to me. Which... I don't know... that's all dependent on the circumstances of the fic, because sometimes they swear a blue streak and it seems totally in character. And now of course we know it actually IS in character.
I remember being really weirded out when I heard Jensen's character in Devour say fuck. (Probably the very least of the things that weirded me out about that movie.)
I think I'm wearing a hole in my file at the Spruce-n-Dean scene, from having it on repeat.
Also, when he breaks up Ed and Harry's fight, he says "cut it out!" (that is, immediately after he says "what the fuck," omg), and "out" has two syllables. ajsdklfjasasjfd
Also also, Corbett's being ATTACKED by the insanely scary ghost, eeeeeek, and then they cut to Sam getting bleeped, and it will never stop being funny.
But. I think that may be why I wasn't more bothered by the way they handled the whole dead gay intern thing: because Dean said "fuck me" and it was so surreal that my brain had trouble processing any other input. :\

I love Spruce. Probably because he's 1/16 Cherokee.

My brain said, 'Absolutely. Sure. Right away, sir.'
Heh. I keep hearing Spruce say, 'Wow. You're strong.'
Oh, man...
Is it wrong to get all hot and bothered by Dean's pixelated middle finger?
