At the all-school meeting this morning, the principal tried to prepare the students emotionally for a difficult math test that's coming up this week. We're trying hard to hew to a tough pacing guide, and they're trying to establish norms that can be looked at from year to year. Given this is the first year, the pacing has been tough and the kids

Hang in there! Things will get easier (well, a little easier) as you figure out a routine that works for you. The first year is the hardest, when you have to do all your lesson plans from scratch and still figure out how to manage a classroom. Remember, next year you'll be able to build off of all the work you're doing now!

Besides, I don't even remember what weekends are anymore. :)
