A little off topic, but on point four, I've always thought that was a damned shame. It would be so much easier for people who don't have lj's to be able to follow their anon threads if they could enter an email address to be auto-replied to :p
Yeah, I know. I'm sure there's a good technical reason why the LJ software team doesn't implement that particular feature, but I'll be damned if I can guess at what it might be. *le sigh*
It would be too easily abuseable. You could make a verification system, but that would be a lot of work to make LJ better for people who aren't even joining a free service.
I personally believe if someone can't put their name behind something they 'critical' that they say, then there's no sense listening to them. They obviously have bigger issues if they can't even own up to what they post.
I received your e-mail, but I might not get to it until this evening given that I'm trying to actually finish a few projects today that I've been putting off for weeks (it's easier for me to respond quickly to a comment than a personal e-mail, because I like to put more care and effort into the latter, particularly when it's someone new. :-) ).
I was beginning to wonder if I'd scared you off somehow--it hadn't occurred to me that you might only check e-mail from work. *sigh* What can I say? Love me, love my neurosis. ;-)
Sure, why not? :-) Welcome aboard! Just so you know, I don't do Friends-only entries all that often, regardless of the subject matter, so in adding me to your Friends' list you're going to get the funny stuff as well as the more personal, not-always-nearly-so-amusing stuff. But if you're cool with that, then read on, MacDuff...;-)
Funny stuff and "not-always-nearly-so-amusing stuff is just life isn't it. So,yeah, I'm good with that. I added you too...mine is a little more personal, though if you are ok with it?
