I realise this is short notice, but...

Fortune has placed me in New York City, staying at my brother's place through at least next Tuesday while we look into getting some much-needed dental work done through the NYU College of Dentistry. I realise it's been ages and forever since I've posted or even commented, but if anyone (well, okay, anyone I've actually talked to in the past, on LJ ( Read more... )

ah NYC, I wish I could visit again. It's a great place, do something fun for me :) They have some amazing museums literally about a 5 minute walk from the subways, The Met Museum being one of my faves. I also loved The Cloisters but that was kinda in a sketchy area and a long winding walk through this park in which I only found my way by asking these old ladies coming from the same place.

I hope you get the chance to live it up :)

I haven't made it out to the Cloisters yet, but believe you me, I plan to. Had a fantastic time with the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, been running around Central Park, exploring in general...so yeah, been having lots of fun in between the actual business. :-) The architecture alone is leaving me giddy.

Hopefully I'll have a chance to make it out to the Met as well before I go. :-)

Soooooo come on over! I'll be here at least through this Thursday, I think. :-)

We can go all ubergeeky on medieval stuff and dance with the pigeons while singing madrigals. It'll be a blast. NYC's cleaned up a lot even in just the past ten years, honestly, from what my brother tells me.

NYC is treating me... gnosticelf January 11 2010, 02:18:19 UTC
...rather fabulously so far, thank you, except for eating through my pocketbook much faster than I'd anticipated when I first came up here last week. I'm really enjoying the diversity of this place, even though it's colder than a witch's tit in a brass bra flying backwards.

*hugs* How have YOU been lately? I still feel bad for not "coming to your rescue" when you asked me that one time, but I'm hoping you've been able to forgive me. It was just bad timing and I was going through a horribly self-absorbed phase. I hadn't intended to drop the ball, truly. :-(

And fyi, Fortune is simply my generic name for whatever hand has been slowly bringing things together for me over the course of my wild and wildly tragicomic life. :-)

When I first read the entry, Fortune sounded like some sort of company or something. It was the way I read the sentence. Then, a little later, while washing dishes, I was like, "Ohhh. Fortune!" The brain is a little slow these days :P

At least the end of this coming week. A lot's depending on when the student handling my case is able to schedule me in; because I'm Diabetic there are special factors he apparently has to discuss with his advisors first before he can continue, and I'm not his only patient. We aren't talking just one or two teeth being pulled here, more like partial, if not full, mouth-extraction and dentures.

I'd totally forgotten you and yours were still in NYC! Whereabouts are you living these days? :-D
