I honestly don't even have a clue what the whole cross-posting business is about, nor do I really care all that much, and I certainly don't understand the value at all in cross-posting OTHER people's stuff to my Facebook or vice-versa. So I won't be.

There was and is still a certain amount of trust involved in any friends locked post and nothing online is ever really secure. However, that doesn't mean I want my LJ involved with FB.

Oh, totally understood, the two services seem to serve completely different functions. I don't send notifications to FB about EVERY post I make here, either, usually just the ones that help to further explain some particularly cryptic status update I might have made, because I certainly have more space to do so in LJ than with FB.

I also could care less what my family on FB knows about my deeper thoughts or what I think/do here on LJ (I've always been an open book, and rather proud of it for the most part), but I understand that could be a legitimate concern for others.
