[At some point, Haruki may notice he's picked up a spectator. Goroh, now the oldest non-immortal person in Luceti, is leaning against the wall of another building, slowly working down a cigarette, and watching as Haruki tries to play baseball with himself.]

Gonna have to work harder than that to improve your batting average, kid.

[Older than Derek? Wow. But once Goroh speaks Haruki turns and- ...Does he even know this guy? He has to admit, the guy looks plenty shady, but apparent age alone makes him awkward about being blatantly rude. Thus, after silently looking at his bat and then back at the smoking man there]

...Yeah, I guess so.

[But at least it's something he can try. Littered baseballs and numerous fly-balls aside]

[Goroh is very shady. He makes it a point to look so. He's never been big on subtlety.]

Toss one of those over here. We'll see if you can't hit one of mine.

Sure thing.

[Good times man. But that said he blinks once or twice before taking up a ball and tossing it one-handed overhand to Goroh. Yes, back against the pirates he was the pitcher and pretty good at it too so it's not a super-weak throw or anything.

And then sets up a position to hit it with his bat and all. You know, the usual.]

[Following that swing - which he made one-handed because he wanted to pretend he was using a light-saber - Haruki turns to Minato and blinks because holy shit it's Minato and he's talking to him. He doesn't drop the bat, but he does lower it and doesn't pick up another ball]

[Leon has been more restless than usual. He had escaped the experiment for the most part, only to get caught up in this ... war draft. Logically, complaining about it like some of the others had done wouldn't help at all... So he settled on trying to deal with his frustration.

This means taking a walk at night, after telling Rena he was going to be out for awhile. He's bringing a tome with him this time around; maybe wearing himself out practicing spells would help at a time like this.

...But first, he goes over to the Brigade building.

Through the barrel teleporter, because it's kickass like that.]

[that barrel teleporter is still awesome. Haruki though, of course, doesn't see it because he's kinda you know hitting balls outside. But given that it's out back that big window he likes to stare out in the window will make him visible. ...Assuming I'm right in assuming it's inside but if it isn't either way he's not taking note of the guy]

[Yeah, it's totally inside the building. Leon peers out the window to see Haruki hittings balls at-- to?-- ...uh. What the heck, Haruki.

In the time it takes for Leon to leave the building and go around to the back, he's come to the conclusion that Haruki's frustrated about something and trying to let off some steam.]

You're going to lose all of them if you keep hitting them that hard, Haruki.

So what, they aren't even mine.

[He ransacked the item shop for these man. Littering is totally not a crime. But that was a trained automatic response that he said while putting the bat over his shoulder and then turning to face the younger guy. whe nhe actually is facing him, well...

Then the real internal battle starts]

[Miu is up to really evil shenanigans today. She doesn't understand the draft, nor does she try to. She just knows that Usagi's going away, and that sucks because she kind of sorta maybe likes her. To her, it's just another day to do something, to get up to some mischief. To draw attention to herself, but maybe something more, because she actually comes looking for Haruki. She's got five pillows with her, two beneath each arm, and she's holding three of them. Someone went to the furniture store. Someone also loves having no curfew.]

Haruki?

[What the- After he hits the last ball he turns to her, throwing the bat over his shoulder. He screws up his face to try to look something close to more reasonably not upset or anything, but ... yeah]

Yeah?

[She's going to throw one of her pillows. DODGE!]

[...!!

He doesn't dodge so it hits him square in the torso. He then focuses attention more fully on Miu]

[He wasn't going to stop. As a loudly professed hater of all things baseball, he wasn't going to stop. But then there is also the sheer idiocy of the kid's actions that he can't look away and compelling him to give his opinion.]

...The hell are you doing, brat?

I'm hitting balls.

[Because, you know, Squalo is never not loud enough to be heard. But he says that as he does another toss in the air to hit the ball and... well it goes far but it's clearly fly]

[Loud and opinionated means there's less chance for confusion...]

Obviously. The question is why. [He picks up one of the baseballs, eyes it disdainfully, and then gives Haruki a look.] It's a shitty game.

Yeah, well, of course it's boring, but other people like it. So the Brigade might as well excel with it.
