My quitting is coming up on three years (one month to go), and I've smoked about three packs during that time. Total, that is, not all at once ( ... )

I was up to two packs of ultra lights per day. That's where I've been for about three years. I started 18 years ago.

Better late than never I guess.

I loved to smoke, but it didn't like me. I had a long run (25 yrs). Somehow I quit cold-turkey almost three years ago. I'm like madfedor now too. It works for me, but you have to start and go a long time before you have a "stress cigarette".

I quit many times before, but the third day was always the deal breaker for me. Every argument ran through my head. And watch out for those stress events. I've had a few smokes since my dad just died, but I have no intention of being a smoker again. You can do it too!

Jon says I haven't really quit since I talk to Bob, but I don't agree because I always did that too. I'm sure one day I won't commune much with him either, but everything in its time...

Good luck!! One undying faith I have in people is that anyone can make positive changes for himself if he chooses to, with plenty of dedication and awareness.

What are the most powerful reasons for you? What will keep you going even when you're tempted?

Best wishes,

Thanks for the kind regard on this. It's nice to have support from all angles when going through it. I'm not good at moderation so for me it's either quit or continue full steam.

Thanks again,
GP

Hey hey, people need an update, any good and any bad. Struggle's normal. *Honest openness* and *repetition of effort* despite numerous failings are powerful --
